Hobbitstee has grown exponentially this year and we have managed to help many more animals than I ever imagined.
I can honestly say that I would not have been able to do half of it had not been for the wonderful people who donated their time, energy and resources to help.
Our group of volunteers is not large, but they all work very hard and have dedicated a great deal of time and energy to helping Hobbitstee Wildlife Refuge grow. I am very grateful for all their help and support.

This year alone we where able to build two new large enclosures, two turtle ponds and we have successfully rehabilitated countless birds, raccoons, skunks, bats, squirrels, turtles, fawns, foxes and even two coyotes.

With rehab season winding down we are certainly not sitting still. We are expanding our outreach and education efforts and are working on raising funds to be able to continue rehabbing wildlife and expanding our operation next season. If all the pieces fall into place we will have several HUGE announcements to make over the next little while. I am super excited and all of you who know me well know I am not good at keeping secrets, but I am going to try...
A fundraiser has been planned for the 23rd of November at Wild Birds Unlimted - Toronto. We are hoping to raise enough money at this event to build a songbird aviary we desperately need.
We will also hold a Sunday Brunch at the Twisted Lemon in Cayuga. We yet have to set a date for this event, so stay tuned for that.
We are of course a member of the Ontario Wildlife Rehabiliation and Education Network
and we will be part of their upcoming courses and conference the last week of November as part of our continuing education.
To keep track of where you can find us our Events Page has a handy calendar with all the upcoming events listed on it. Keep in mind that some events are not public or might require tickets sold in advance.
To get back to what this particular blog is about:
Thank you to the group of volunteers who have helped me so much this year. Thank you for the work you have done. Thank you for your support, trust and friendship. Some of you have gone well beyond the call of duty (so to speak) and that has not gone unnoticed. THANK YOU!
A great big 'Thank You' to all the people who donated funds and materials as well.
All of us at Hobbitstee hope we can count on you in the years to come.
To the rest of you....Stay tuned!
PS: If you see us out and about somewhere please thank my volunteers for their hard work. They really deserve it...
